These photos show recent work done on a new large mountain lion, which is being cast in bronze.

First modeled in clay, the piece mold is then made.

Next the mold will be used to cast a hollow wax mountain lion.

The foundry will then cut the wax lion into smaller sections and attach wax sprues.

Each section undergoes a ceramic shelling procedure that is considerably complicated.

It is this ceramic shell that will eventually receive the molten bronze.
